Assessment and referral of elderly fallers
Older people who fall commonly present to the emergency ambulance service, and approximately 40% are not conveyed to the emergency department (ED), despite an historic lack of formal training for such decisions. What should be the decision-making processes of emergency ambulance staff regarding the management of older people who have fallen.

Pre-hospital airway management
Pre-hospital airway management can be a controversial topic with frequent discussions on topic such as should paramedic intubate? Does RSI have a place in the pre-hospital environment? and which airway management practices and tools should be given to emergency medical services? High flow oxygen and mortality in COPD
Austin, M.A., Karen E Wills, K. E., Blizzard, L., Walters, E. H., Wood-Baker, R. Effect of high flow oxygen on mortality in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients in prehospital setting: randomised controlled trial. BMJ 2010; 341:c5462. This study compares standard high flow oxygen treatment with titrated oxygen treatment for patients with an acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in the prehospital setting.

Can oxygen administration affect patient outcomes?
Oxygen is widely recommended for patients, especially those with myocardial infarctions and strokes, yet recent articles and revised clinical guidelines suggest it may do more harm than good. What are your thoughts?
